Date :Définition
The primary operation of warp-making in which ends withdrawn from a warping creel, evenly spaced in sheet form, are wound onto a beam to substantial length (usually a multiple of loom warp length).
Note :
1: Several similar beams (termed a set of back beams) of the same length provide the total number of ends required in the warps to be made. 2: The sheets from a set of back beams are usually run together as one sheet onto a succession of weaver's beams as an integral part of the sizing operation. Alternatively, the weaver's beams may be assembled from the back beams in a dressing frame. 3: Beaming is suitable primarily for bulk production of grey warp. Fancy warps may be produced by planning the same colour pattern with the minimum of ends to a colour as beams to a set, and in multiples of that number.
