Date :Définition
A creel for mounting two or more yarn packages per end, from which the yarn is withdrawn over-end, to give end-continuity from successive packages.
Note :
The sequence of operations is as follows: (i) Centres of over-end yarn packages are wound initially with a tail or bunch of yarn, usually in a groove, below the main body of yarn. (ii) The tail of yarn from the working or running package is knotted to the outer end of the reserve package. (iii) On exhaustion of the working package, transfer of the end to the reserve package takes place without interruption of end-continuity. (iv) Replenishment of exhausted packages and "tailing" take place without interruption. (v) Usually, there is only one reserve package per end but, if the yarn "unit" content is small, several packages may be tailed in sequence in a creel arranged accordingly.
