Date :Définition
One of the most important amides, acetamide is a crystalline compound containing the CONH2 group characteristic of organic amides, to which a methyl group is attached to give the formula CH3CONH2. It is made by reacting ammonium hydroxide with ethyl acetate. The crystals readily absorb water vapor and dissolve (i.e., are deliquescent); they melt at about 80 °C (175 °F).
Note :
Acetamide has numerous uses in organic chemistry, e.g., in the stabilization of peroxides, in the manufacture of lacquers, as a solvent and surfactant, and in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is also a laboratory reagent.
