Starting material in the production of boran resins; have applications in fireproofing compositions and cements.
A comparatively weak acid (H3BO3) derived from borax by adding a mineral acid and crystallizing. It is used an eyewash in water solution and as a mild antiseptic; it also has neutron-absorbing capacity which is utilized in the so-called swimming-pool nuclear reactors. As a component of glass it impart heat resistance and is also useful in baths for electroplating of nickel. Its esters are used as solvents, fire-retarding agents, and plasticizers.Terme :
