A thermosetting resin made by a condensation reaction of a melamine decrivative, trimethylolmelamine, C3N3(NHCH2OH)3, with formaldehyde.
Note :
They are prepared in the form of molding powders which can accept colorants and are thus used for production of decorative plastics. They are often extended with wood flour and inorganic fillers and may be used in combination with paper, textiles, and similar materials, either as coatings or impregnats. They are resistant to both heat and abrasion.
