Date :Définition
A hydrated form of sodium borate found in the salt beds of the western United States. The anhydrous grade is made from the natural hydrated material. Its most notable industrial use is in glass, where it greatly increases heat resistance; such glasses are often referred to as borosilicate glasses. Borax also has value as a mild detergent and as a flux in the manufacture of ceramics.
