Date :Définition
As its name implies, heating a large area of commercial, industrial, or domestic premises by a network of pipes employing hot water or steam as energy carries.
Notes :
In parts of the world, such as Iceland, the heat comes directly from geothermal sources, but usually the energy is produced by a centralized unit such as a heat-only boiler or as part of a combined heat and power scheme. District heating is relatively common in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe and as the economics of using fossil fuels more efficiently become increasingly advantageous such schemes will become more commonplace elsewhere, particularly in areas of highhousing density and on new town sites.
