Définition :
Valeur à partir de laquelle un signal d'entrée provoque une variation significative du signal de sortie. Le seuil inférieur correspond à la valeur absolue minimale et le seuil supérieur à la valeur absolue maximale. Un équipement peut présenter deux seuils inférieurs ou (et) deux seuils supérieurs, chaque seuil étant valable pour un signe déterminé de la variation du signal d'entrée.

The value above or below which the input signal produces a noticeable change in the output signal. The lower threshold corresponds to the minimum absolute value and the upper threshold to the maximum absolute value. A system may have two lower thresholds and/or two upper thresholds, each threshold applying to a given sign of the change in the input signal.
