Définition :
Atmosphère dont l'indice de réfraction n(h) est défini par la relation : n(h) = 1 + 289,106 × e0,136h, h étant l'altitude en kilomètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer.
Note :
Jusqu'à l'altitude de 1 kilomètre, l'atmosphère fondamentale de référence se confond sensiblement avec l'atmosphère radioélectrique normale.
