An ultrasonography apparatus in which the probe is attached to a scanning arm; this probe is swept over the patient's skin by an operator.
Note :
Manual scanning instruments, employ a scanning arm ((...)) to facilitate image formation. The scanning arm carries out two functions. It provides signals that enable the instrument to track the position and orientation of the ultrasonic transducer.
