An accessory of a fiberscope which consists of a side arm attached to the eyepiece; it is a beam splitter that divides and conveys the image to a second observer.
Notes :
A teaching attachment, or "lecture scope", is indispensable for teaching and for performing procedures that require the help of an assistant.
A teaching attachment consists of a lens that splits the beam of the image that appears on the face of the eyepiece of the endoscope; the beam is transmitted to the eyepiece used by the examiner and is also deflected into and along a coherent fiber bundle that terminates at the eyepiece of the trainee or assistant.
