An imaging technique that uses a rectilinear scanner to produce an image.
Note :
The first nuclear-medicine imaging device involved the operator taking ((...)) a simple detector and moving it in a rectilinear path relative to the patient, in much the same way as we put together an aerial map of the earth. Any process that involves this rectilinear motion of the detector is called scanning.
