A collimator used in gamma cameras which consists of a small opening at the end of a conical lead shield.
Notes :
The pinhole collimator operates on the same principle as the old-fashioned box camera. Consisting of a small opening at the end of a conical lead shield, it projects an inverted radiation image onto the crystal detector. The resolution and sensitivity of this collimator are functions of the diameter of the pinhole.
Single-hole collimator consisting of a conical bore in which the diameter of the input side is very small as compared with the diameter of the output side.
A pinhole on the face of either an optical or gamma-ray permits entry of only those rays aimed at its aperture and marks all others.Terme :
