French crepe is made of right-hand or left-hand twisted yarn or both. 100 to 150 denier is the usual size yarn used to make this rugged, well-wearing fabric.
The term French crepe is given to this fabric when it has been pigmented. ((It is)) a very popular crepe today. Excellent draping qualities but may shrink if not laundered carefully.
Lingery crepe or French crepe, since it is no longer given embossing to produce the effect, is really not a full-fledged crepe texture today. Now made of silk, acetate, rayon or nylon.Terme :
