A five-end satin or other warp-faced fabric with dress-faced finish.
Twilled fabric napped on one side. Twill or satin weave. Used for sportswear, coats, suits.
A very close and compact wool fabric with exceptionally smooth face. The weave is similar to a satin, but the smooth finish generally obliterates any trace of the weave on the face.Note :
To-day, other weaves, such as 2/1 warp twill and 3/1 brocken crow, are very often used and given a dressed finish, and the name doeskin is applied. In other words, it is often the effect and the kid-glove handle due to the finish that cause such a cloth to be placed in the category of a doeskin. The material is all wool, often all merino, or possibly blended wool including merino.
