A general term for any paper coated on one side with adhesive gum, the adhesive being a dextrin, fish or animal glue, and resin or a blend of any of these.
Note :
The usual basis weight is in the range of 38-45 pounds (24 x 36 - 500). Gummed papers of various types are used for stickers, labels, seals, stamps, splices, tapes, etc. They should be flat and non-curling and adhere firmly to the surface.
