Définition :
Clause insérée dans l'Accord sur l'établissement d'une Union Européenne de Paiements lors de son renouvellement pour une année à partir du 1er juillet 1954, et stipulant que l'Union pourra prendre fin à tout moment si des pays Membres dont les quotas représentent au total au moins 50 % de l'ensemble des quotas au 1er juillet 1955 notifient à l'Organisation, à l'occasion du rétablissement de la convertibilité de leur monnaie, leur intention de mettre fin à l'Union et, en même temps, de faire entrer en vigueur l'Accord Monétaire Européen.

Clause which was inserted in the Agreement for the Establishment of a European Payments Union when the Union was renewed for a further year from 1st Jully 1954.
Note :
It provides that the Union is to terminate whenever Member countries whose quotas together amount to at least 50 per cent of the sum of all the quotas as 1st July 1955 notify to the Organisation, on the occasion of their currencies return to convertibility, their intention to terminate the Union and bring the European Monetary Agreement into force at the same time.
