Membrane qui enveloppe complètement l'embryon après quelques jours d'incubation. Elle est remplie d'un liquide clair et salin dans lequel baigne l'embryon, jusqu'à la dernière période d'incubation au moment où le liquide disparaît et où le poussin perce les membranes avec le bec.

The membrane which completely encloses the embryo after the first few days of incubation. It is filled with a clear saline fluid and the embryo is immersed in this, until the final period before hatching when the fluid disappears and the chick pierces the membranes with its beak.
