A twill fabric of similar construction to a denim, but usually piece-dyed. Typical cotton particulars are 37 x 49 tex (16s x 12s); 96 x 48; 11 1/2% x 9%; 21 1/2 mils; 7 3/4 oz/ yd²; k = 24 x 14; 3/1 twill weave, usually made in 28-in. widths. A strong, firmly woven, cotton or cotton and rayon fabric with a three-harness warp faced herringbone twill; carded or combed medium count yarns are used. Used : corsets, brassières, etc. Exceptional strength is required of the corset coutil and in some cases the breaking strength of 120 pounds is specified in warp and filling or, in the combed qualities, as much as 140.
A durable fabric of medium weight. Usually, three-harness warp-faced twills made of carded sheeting yarns. Comes in various weights and thread counts ranging from 60 x 36 to 80 x 48. When dyed, known as khaki, tickings, silesia, herringbones. One thread goes over two filling yarns, then under one.Terme :
