Définition :
Le système centrencéphalique est un central cérébral pouvant intégrer les fonctions des deux hémisphères.
Notes :
Le terme est de Penfield en 1950.
Il fut repris plus tard par Herbert Jasper pour qui il signifie l'intégration non seulement des deux hémisphères mais l'intégration au sein d'un même hémisphère. Les structures concernées seraient situées dans le diencéphale et le mésencéphale.
