The paper possesses good folding and tearing qualities, has a high wet-rub test, and a high wet-tensile test, so that it will resist scuffing when wet and pulling apart on the coating machine. Brownprint paper differs from blueprint paper principally in that the former must be a stronger sheet and is usually harder sized both beater and surface sizing ((...)). This negative is then used for making positive blueprint which have blue lines on a white background.
