Définition :
Anomalie morphologique intradentaire intéressant le plus souvent l'incisive ou la canine, qui présente dans sa cavité pulpaire un denticule dont les tissus durs sont inversés par rapport à la normale.
Note :
Comme l'indique Findborg, L'expression « dens in dente » est anatomiquement incorrecte. Par ailleurs, le Rapport des Deuxièmes journées d'endodontie nous apprend qu'en français ce terme a été remplacé par « invagination cingulaire ».

Dental anomaly caused by the invagination of the enamel into a deep groove in a tooth frequently seen in the lingual pit area of the maxillary lateral incisor.
