  A derrick consisting of a single jib, machinery house, and rotating mast which is supported at its upper end by guy wires and at the lower end by a ball-and-socket or antifriction-bearing fitting. R

  This type of derrick has been used for moderate radü, and capacities. Power may be electric, or supplied by steam or internal combustion engine.
