Minerals which are regarded as an essential component of the daily diet.
Notes :
They include both "trace elements" (which need to be present only in small amounts such as iron and zinc, or in very small amounts, e.g. iodine, copper and selenium) and other minerals which are needed in much larger amounts, (e.g. calcium and potassium because they contribute to an important extent to the total bodily composition).
