Date :Définition
A chemically impregnated, unsized paper used for electrical purposes. If moistened, and the 2 wires from dynamo, mains or batteries are pressed upon it, the wire that leaves a red or pink mark is the negative pole. The paper is saturated with sodium chloride or sulphate and phenolphthalein solution so that electrolysis takes place & the hydroxyl ion will colour the phenolphthalein red, hence the opposite wire is the positive electrode.
