An expert system design in which several independent knowledge bases each examine a common working memory, called a blackboard.
Notes :
The blackboard architecture was designed primarily to deal with the problems of bringing many different sorts of knowledge to bear upon a single problem, and of reasoning with imperfect information.
The blackboard itself is a "data structure" that holds all solutions and partial solutions. These solutions can be at several different levels of abstraction and cover different sized sections of the problem. In addition there is a set of independent "knowledge sources" whose condition parts refer to information on the blackboard and whose action parts can update the blackboard. Finally, there is a scheduler which decides the order in which the conditions and actions will be executed.Terme :
