A hinge with a horizontal axis that allows vertical blade movement to relieve blade root stresses and equalize lift over the advancing and retreating blade halves of the rotor disc.
Notes :
The semi-rigid rotor has but one flapping hinge (centered on the mast axis) which is usually called a teeter or teetering hinge. Each blade of an articulated rotor has its own flapping hinge, often referred to as a delta hinge.
Teeter/teetering hinge and delta hinge are not interchangeable, although flapping hinge may be used in the place of either.Terme :
